Dandora Street Slam Tour
The original “Street Slam”! The Dandora slums are built on the edge of East Africa’s largest garbage dump. This amazing tour is run by a group of young artists who live in Dandora – acrobats, rappers, b-boys, these guys will take you on an incredible journey through the slums to hidden waterfalls and urban farms, and introduce you to the vibrant art scene in Dandora.
For a few dollars extra you can visit local acrobatics and dance groups and watch them practice. See amazing athletes and maybe hear a local rapper. This is the real street scene of Africa – something you won’t see anywhere else.
Cost: 1,000 KSH (aprox $10) for the basic tour. Add 500 KSH to visit the acrobats and watch them practice.

Mathare Valley Tour
Mathare Valley is the second largest slum in Nairobi. Mathare is filled with thriving markets and real people. Visit a school set up by Mathare residents, watch a youth group practice traditional African dances, and visit local crafts co-operatives where you can by arts directly from the people who make them. The Mathare Valley is a classic east African slum filled with vibrant markets and split by the Nairobi River.
Cost: 500 KSH (aprox $5) for the basic tour. Add 500 KSH to visit the the Mathare Youth Group and watch them practice and join in a dance.
